Holiday Greetings from Rosie’s Ranch!

Wow - What a year it’s been for our little ranch down in Parker, Colorado!  As 2010 began, Rosie’s Ranch was just a little seed in our imaginations, and now it’s close to becoming a fully operational horse ranch for deaf children and children with oral language challenges. We couldn’t have gotten this far without our supporters! From our many ranch clean-up /porch project days with the Gomez Painting crew, Martinez Construction, Inc., Chase Lumber, BMC Lumber & Trinity Lutheran, to the Eagle Scout projects, the Pepsi Grant team/voters,  the techno crew sourcing our advertising, photography, webpage, video and finally, the practice pony camp volunteer counselors. The dedication of our volunteers and generosity of their donations has been humbling!  You have been there for us, sharing your time, treasures and talents. Thank you for all you’ve done!

An extra special thank you goes to our extraordinary Eagle Scout candidate Noah Flieder who has been remodeling the barn since June. He and his family have spent hundreds of hours in the barn….and WHAT a BARN it will be!  Space won’t allow us list all of the companies that have contributed to this project but we are exceedingly grateful.

We also extend our sincere gratitude to our dear friend Grant Rogers and the 1K Silver Spurs for their bighearted donations that have funded most of the renovations so far.

Our next endeavor is building the indoor riding arena. An indoor facility is far from a luxury for deaf and orally challenged children. It provides the needed shelter from the wind so rider’s hearing aids/cochlear implants can do their job. The best part about this facility is the FM sound system. The system transmits instructor’s voices directly to the riders’ amplification, strengthening listening skills and building vocabulary!  We believe that horses can inspire children with oral language challenges to talk and listen; something magical happens when you place a kid on a horse!   It will also enable us to provide year-round riding which will strengthen our ranch’s long term viability.

What? YOU haven’t donated yet and would like to donate now?
